who says New Yorkers are rude...?

A young woman helps me with my big luggage down the stairs to the subway station in Brooklyn; an old Italian man spontaneously instructs me on how to more easily get past the turnstile in the subway with my luggage and which stations have elevators; a man carries my bag up all the stairs out of the subway station in Manhattan.
