The days are getting noticeably and rapidly shorter. When I first arrived at the end of May it was still light out at 11pm, and now it's getting dark around 8:30pm. This makes me worry about just how dark it will be in the darkest winter days. So, there isn't any time to lose while the sun is still shining...
Camping in southern Estonia,
Stepping out of the tent, the grass is long and damp. A pink blush emerges between the serrated pine and spruce trees on the horizon and the deep blue-black sky scattered with stars. From the nearby field, dozens of white sheep say good morning.
Mid morning lesson in flying a kiteboarding trainer kite.
Afternoon visiting a 15th century castle and jumping into a chilly lake from a dive tower.
Evening meal of Estonian Korean bibimbap before the bus back home.
The next day, back in Riga,
Completion of my first 10km race.
Pretty good weekend.
